He was named All-Pacific Coast League
first team.

first team.

National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athletes: 

This year Alex King has been recognized for his outstanding performance in the classroom (3.5 total GPA), and on the football field (1st team All League).  Alex has also been selected All CIF for the Southern Conference.  Congratulations Alex!

2011 CIF-SS Statistical Leaders

Northwood quarterback Ricky Bautista Bautista was the offensive MVP of the Pacific Coast League and an All-CIF player in 2010. He completed 183 of 310 passes for 2,410 yards and 27 touchdowns last year.


Northwood Coach Rick Curtis and his players celebrate after winning the Dennis Toohey Fence Post Trophy last year. Northwood hopes to bring home the Fence Post again this year. The Timberwolves open the season Friday against Gahr at Irvine.

Alex King, Northwood, LB: King (right) gets ready to tackle Max Neser of Woodbridge in a game last year. As a junior, King had 50 unassisted tackles, 50 assisted tackles and two sacks and an interception. He earned first team All-Pacific Coast League honors. See the complete list at IrvineWorldNews.

Spring football quarterbacks to watch:


Ricky Bautista, Northwood: Last year's Northwood team was picked to finish fifth in the PCL, but finished second and advanced to the Southern Division semifinals. One reason was the play of Bautista, who completed 61.6 percent of his passes for 2,529 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. That's a good starting block for 2011.
